How to measure

STANDARD WINDOW

INSTALLATION INSIDE THE FRAME

Make sure you have a minimum of 1 1/2 inches of depth in your window so you can properly position your anchor. If your depth is less than this measurement, we advise you to opt for an installation outside your framing.

Make sure that there is no obstacle that could prevent the canvas from closing properly (e.g. crank, patio door handle)

1. MEASURE THE WIDTH

Take three width measurements at different locations (bottom, center, top) as in the photo inside the frame and then use the narrowest measurement when ordering.

2. MEASURE HEIGHT

Take three height measurements at different locations (left, center, right) as in the photo inside the frame and then use the longest measurement when ordering.

3. ORDER

Use the exact measurements to order your custom blinds. Do not make any changes to your measurements, we will deduct approximately 1/8 inch ourselves afterwards to ensure everything fits.

INSTALLATION OUTSIDE THE FRAME

If you want to install your canvas outside the frame, you must first ensure that there is no obstacle that could obstruct the passage of your window covering (e.g. a piece of furniture, a frame, a wall).

1.MEASURE THE WIDTH

For width, we recommend adding about ½ inch to your measurements on each side of your basic framing (you are not immune to imperfections, such as crooked framing).

By adding a certain measure, we ensure that we completely cover the window (framing included) and ensure that the canvas does not let any light through on the sides. Measure the width outside your window frame.

So: Measurements of the exterior framing of your window + ½ inch each side.

Example: 34 + ½ + ½ = 35 inches when ordering

Please note that the measurements correspond to the cassette and not to the fabric. It is therefore advisable to add a few inches to the width, considering that the cassette is slightly wider than the fabric.

2. MEASURE HEIGHT

For an installation above the window frame, we advise you to add 3 inches to your measurements, to allow the attachment of the metal supports which are used to install your canvas and which will therefore mount the cassette 3 inches higher.

Example: 50 + 3 additional inches = 53 inches when ordering

3. ORDER

Order your custom blinds using the calculated dimensions. We will not make any deductions from your final measurements, so the measurements ordered will be the measurements received

MEASUREMENTS FOR PATIO DOOR

1. MEASURE THE WIDTH

Measure the overall width of your patio door.

Subsequently, you will have the option to choose whether you want to install it in one or two sections.

A section means you will only have one panel the full width of your patio door. Two sections means you will have two panels in your patio door. By choosing two panels, a second choice will be available to you. That of having one or two cassettes.

A cassette means you have a single motor that controls both of your panels, so they go up and down at the same time. You will be able to choose the width of each panel.

Two cassettes mean you have two motors (+$), so your panels control each other independently, allowing you to open just one of two if you feel like it. You will also have the possibility to choose the width of each of the panels.

2. MEASURE HEIGHT

For an installation above the patio door frame, we advise you to add 3 inches to your measurements, to allow the attachment of the metal supports which are used to install your canvas and which will therefore mount the cassette 3 inches higher .

Example: 80 + 3 additional inches = 83 inches when ordering

3. ORDER

INSIDE THE FRAME

For installation inside the frame, no deductions are necessary, we will do them for you.

OUTSIDE THE FRAME

Order your custom blinds using the calculated dimensions. We will not make any deductions from your final measurements, so the measurements ordered will be the measurements received.
